Name » Cali-Bryn Faeroe

Age » Incomprehensible due to his new life and past resurrections

Gender » Male

Race » Elfin

Cali-Bryn Faeroe, his race is a strange sort to categorize really. The typical elf is usually depicted as tall, athletic, and with the archetypal long pointed ears, and the long, strange colored hair. As well as their appearance, elves are known to be punctual speakers, poetic, and intelligent. Cali-Bryn is no exception to most of these, although, due to past circumstances, morals, friendships, and cultures, Cali-Bryn is an elf in his own class. If you were to use modern day standards for elves, Cali-Bryn would closely resemble a high-elf, or one of the more noble classes of elves, but again circumstances have changed his body and altered his looks. His bright blue eyes are very common amongst elves, but his white pupils are an anonymity, as with his silver hair. The most noticeable difference you could notice on Cali-Bryn would be the various scars on his body, left from constant battle and unknown changes. As for speaking, the elf is outspoken for someone with his caliber of history, and he is a brilliant scholar in many fields. The biological functions of Cali-Bryn, however, are what set him apart from most elfin heritage. Although elves are known for their odd sleeping habits, Cali-Bryn just does not sleep. Nor is it likely that the elf ages, unlike the usual slow process of elfin aging processes, Cali-Bryn just seems to exist, with no reason why. Lastly, it is known that most elves have a certain degree of magic, even if untrained. However, to begin his life on a clean slate, and as a new person, Cali-Bryn confronted the gods — he asked them for another chance, and gave up everything he had, including his magic, and all the skills he had possessed. Here the gods rearranged his whole being, and amplified his existing skills by diminishing others. Cali-Bryn has no magic whatsoever, unless you can call the summoning of weapons that. The only thing Cali-Bryn has now is his swords and his mêlée skill.

Appearance » Cali-Bryn is eternal… existing perpetually in a life of never-ending youth. Being eternal, however, proves difficult to disguise ones identity… though Cali-Bryn is not a typical elf. Due to an erratic lifestyle, jumping between clans and people of good and evil had left his body eternally scarred, and since his most recent incarnation, his body went through another series of changes. Upon first glance, one would notice that his eyes glow with a fervent azure haze. His eyes have a hidden and forbidden beauty that shines from under the seemingly blank but ever piecing glowing orbs of ice. However, most notable factor to his eyes is the fact that his pupils are white, devoid of all colors, and seemingly refract all the light surrounding the area. His strange, silver colored hair reaches down over his eyes, and left falling free in a single thick braid, tied together with black rope wound around the tress, is his silver hair. His thin, graciously curving eyelashes and his imperceptible eyebrows are of the exact opposite of his hair, stark black. His nose is rather smallish, yet it is still sharp and well formed, and fits nicely to his striking hard face. His ears retain the trait of the elfin race, and are adorned with three rings on each lobe, two on top, and one below. Across the bridge of his nose, ending beneath his eyes, lays a very noticeable scar of deep crimson. His lips are very thin and match the tone of his tanned skin exactly, and it is hard to make them out. Sophisticated in appearance, with a profound complexion almost as noticeable as his reserved stare, Cali-Bryn is an urbane-faced, silver-haired elf standing at five feet, eleven inches and weighing a hundred and forty pounds.

Putting aside his facial features for a moment, Cali-Bryn appears to be a normal elfin male of royal heritage. He looks to be roughly about twenty years of age, in human standards, with his bodily proportions in an unnaturally perfect balance. Simply, Cali-Bryn is a tall and lithe male, who is average in stature. While Cali-Bryn is average, he is lithe and the young elfin man has a svelte framework of muscle, tendon, and bone all of which forms well developed muscles. Cali-Bryn’s long legs, while toned, are well worked and well muscled from his frequent running day after day, thus providing the elf with the swiftness and elegance in battle that he so desires and very much needs. The elf has arms that are also long and thin, but they also show that they have not been neglected. While Cali-Bryn’s arms may be thin, they are muscular enough to give the elf the much needed strength and speed that are ever so required to slash countless times in a repeated sequence, while retaining a good amount of strength to defend from on coming blows. His long and nimble fingers and his strong wrists give him all the flexibility that is needed to wield his weapons with accuracy and quickness. Back to his facial features, the rare, but charming smile of snow-white teeth, combined with his pale lips, high-cheek bones and small nose, show a sophisticated splendor in a man. His tanned skin, littered with crimson scars, also shows that the elf knows stress and labor all too well. Upon close inspection of his long nimble fingers, it could be seen that there is no dirt under the close cut fingernails, but instead see the calices and scars of hard work and daily practice with his weapons.

Although it is rare to see the elf without some sort of armor or clothing on, as he is a private individual who sees nudity and sexuality as sacred things that should not be exploited. Constantly upon the elf lies a full body suit of a thin, rubber-like body suit of armour. The armor resembles a riding suit of some sort, but seems to change colour as the figure moves. In some places the body suit would be white as the new-fallen snow, or over there it would be the deepest ebony where it is black as shadow. Elsewhere, the armour would be dabbled with the deep grey-green of the trees, shadows or whatever nature throws out. In towns, the armor blends in with the brickworks of the city, almost like a chameleon. The patterns run like moonlight on water with every step he takes, changing constantly, and do not have a default color. Upon touch, the armour feels like smooth and cold metal but is very flexible, soft like velvet, yet hard as steel. Its surface is completely smooth, and rather than having overlapping plates of metal, the suit seems to be all molded into one piece. It is composed of a strange material, resulting in a suit of armour that is very flexible and resilient. Covering from the middle of his neck, all the way down to his wrists and ankles, the armor leaves no spot uncovered other than the feet, hands and head. The material is waterproof, and weather proof, and is resistant to magic as due to the gods’ intervention. As well as the previous listed, the material is skintight, thus leaving no sound to be heard when Cali-Bryn is sneaking about.

The usual attire that is worn by Cali-Bryn over this armor, to disguise the fact that he is wearing it, is usually cloth and leather fitted with straps of all sorts. Upon his chest lays a heavy white cloth tunic that has a sort of reverse triangle-neck that can be tied closed with black leather strings through silver eyelets, just above his sternum. The heavy shirt of white also has a wide and deep hood that is usually left flat on Cali-Bryn’s back. The hood and sleeves are outlined with a very dark, golden, and black trim. From his forearms to his –- clad-in-fingerless-leather-gloved — knuckles, lie a matching pair of black vambraces that fit rather tightly around his arms and are kept firm by three black leather straps, with silver buckles, on the forearm part of the guards. As for wearing pants, Cali-Bryn chooses to wear very loose, but faded black leather trousers that are deeply washed out. The pants are not horribly baggy, but have a relaxed fit, which makes him look somewhat professional. Across his wait, hips, and down each pant leg he wears several black leather, silver buckled belts - one to keep his pants up, two crossing to his sides for decoration, and five small buckles on the outside of his pant legs to tighten when needed. His white shirt is always kept tucked into his pants, and is always tied shut at his sternum to keep his professional look up to par. Lastly, his pants are always tucked in the footwear upon his feet. On his feet, there lay heavy, leather and rubber boots; the boots have thick soles, and are made of a very durable material. The soles are very hard, and the toes are steel. The laces of these boots go through black eyelets on up the shin part of the boot to about halfway up the shin itself.

Personality » Cali-Bryn has spent several years in perfect solitude, during so he had set himself away from people after training for some time, his forced training to improve even more on his skills. Since he was been away from the company of ‘normal’ people, he has developed an aloof attitude. In fact, he had just recently re-entered society as a new person. Due to his overwhelming unsociable ways, he avoids contact with people. Almost acting like an outsider, even though people try to be nice to him. He acts this way because his training through time has made him very weary of the fact that people are only concerned for themselves and many are easily capable of betraying, and he does not wish to get involved with people. Some would say that a chaste malice follows Cali-Bryn around, while others would say it is just unadulterated ethics. Truth be told, character is in the eye of the beholder. Cali-Bryn is stern and never loses his composure in a battle. His years with the Dark Angels, or the clan named Renditions of Reality, both taught him to take pain, he stays in a constant serene state of mind, and nothing seems to trouble him. Although he may be reserved in trying to find friends, he is receptive to those he does work with, often forging a lasting and noteworthy relationship if the situation allows. He is very intelligent and cultured, having studied many races histories and evolution for tactical reasons. Despite his coolness, he is firm in his decisions. Whatever he says always goes first. His eloquent speeches and deep, commanding voice usually get the best out of his friends and followers; yet, he will always tell someone what is best for him, regardless of who it may be.

Weaponry » Pair of Kristalliis

These Kristalliis are pair of short war swords loosely based on a historical Roman example of a medieval spatha. These swords are heavily customized to Cali’s mode of purpose, brought forth by the confines of his own mind, and the gods own will. These customized weapons both have a sharp cutting edge on a single side of the blade, with a dulled backside continuing from the ricasso about three inches from the quillons of the blade. Simply put, the weapons are, and mainly always will be, used for cleaving. The lightweight weapons enable a more straightforward and aggressive style of offensive sword fighting that is based on the sheer overwhelming nature of movement and the quickness of the hand, rather than raw power and brute force. Cali-Bryn, due to the agility and speed given by the light swords, quickly embraced these slim weapons and trained extensively with them once they were bestowed upon him. The art of combat with these stiff shearing blades was quite deadly, even though a thrust was more life threatening than a cut; the lightweight weapons gave room to force and speed, to create a quicker pace. However, the thick blades of the spatha, and the bulky handle would often prove cumbersome, and awkward, so with the gods, Cali-Bryn developed a completely new type of weapon. The results were a pair of identical weapons with thinner, but longer hilts than the spatha, with quillons as very small octagonal bars. These quillons barely protected the hand, but the focus was to secure the blade made for heavy and quick slashes — a broad, but strangely curved and angled blade with a sharply tapered tip that closely resembled a scimitar or a falchion of sorts. This design maintained the great slashing potential of the two light war swords while the hilt allowed for stout blows to be rained upon enemies from the pair of Kristalliis.

These weapons are by far wholly superior to the blade that the pair of weapons had been created from, the blade Cali-Bryn used in ages past. These weapons had been bestowed upon Cali-Bryn from the gods after his fall from the realm of living. Cali-Bryn traded all the magic he possessed, and all the memories of his past life for another chance to live again. The gods granted the only one wish of his, and in order to send him off into his new life, the gods broke his legendary sword Chrysalis and forged identical blades for the elfin man, with the design he liked, and the design they wished him to have that would suit him best. Each blade of the Kristalliis begins at a width of one inch, continuing for three inches serving as the ricasso. At the three-inch mark, the ricasso ends on one side and the cutting edge increases a half-inch bringing each blade to a one and a half-inch width. The ricasso ends at the three inch length, and for the extent of each of the blades, the backside of the sword is unsharpened the length of a centimeter down the blade. From this, the blade reaches its full length of twenty and a half inches, while the last half inch again changes its width back to the one-inch point, tapering off to a sharp curve towards the dulled side of the blade. The nine-inch hilt is essentially bare with a brass fitted, mahogany handle, with a lacquered finish, and weatherproofed to endure wetness and age. The pommel is a counter-weight for the blade and is an ornately molded cross of brass with a crystal set into the center. The neck of the hilt is also molded brass, but is rather plain other than the centimeter long quillons branching from the sides. The blades however have a strikingly different feature than any conventional blades, other than the narrow fuller that runs up with the ricasso, each of the blades look to be of a clear and glassy make. Each blade holds true to the prismatic glassy blades, refracting and reflecting light, and although the blades look to be made of glass, the material is far stronger.

The material of the weapons, however, is what sets it apart from almost any other blade that Cali-Bryn has seen in his vast lifetime. The material of each sword is very unique, it is a perfect blend of the magic that the gods took from Cali-Bryn, and the crystal compound of the indigo blade of Chrysalis and is impossible to recreate though normal means without divine intervention. The lightweight crystal compound with the added strength from Cali-Bryn’s previous but vast expanse of magic provides the crystal sword to bear the strength of heavily fortified steel, and retain a razor sharp cutting edge through years of use as long as Cali-Bryn’s faith in the gods never falters. The crystal that had been used was previously the sword of his past, the famed indigo sword of Chrysalis. Upon the clear crystal of the blade lies five runes that run vertically on the blade and depending on the state that Cali-Bryn is in, each rune begins to glow with a heightened vigor. During certain attacks, they all glow brightly, and when he is incapacitated, the runes are dull and barely visible; when in a calm state however, the runes are a faint blue, a reminder that the gods are constantly watching. Each rune depicts the name of each god in the divine language of each deity, and is impossible for Cali-Bryn to read, or even pronounce when it is heard. The ancient runes etched upon each longsword’s blade are almost impossible to decipher. Well-balanced and beautifully crafted, each slightly curving blade is unbelievably fast and agile. Weighing only two pounds each, and being the divine gifts from the gods, Cali-Bryn is able to move the blades as if they were extensions of his body. Lastly, Cali-Bryn has no need of sheaths, due to his faith in the gods, and the divine influence on the blades, when Cali-Bryn is done with the weapons the gods will break them down and hold them in safe storage for the elf until they are needed once more. Upon will alone, Cali-Bryn can summon these weapons to battle in a blinding flash.

Cali-Bryn was always a naturally adept sword fighter due to his Kalian Elfin race, because of the weapon master of his house. His weapon master was a Kalian-Drow mixture, thus had the background of the Drow fighting styles. Of these, the master taught Cali-Bryn, at a very young age, the two main styles that housed the swordsman backbone of Cali-Bryn’s skill. Cali-Bryn had a powerful natural dexterity and skill with a sword, so the elf had naturally excelled in these two styles: Draa Velve, and Sargh'elgg. Only a few Drow in each city practiced the Draa Velve style because the natural ability needed for the style is very rare. The name means "two swords,” and it involves an amazing balance of control between the two hands. Followers of this style fight with a weapon in each hand and use one of the weapons to parry as well as attack, which means the parrying weapon also acts much like a shield. Some dark elves without perfect balance in both hands study the basics of this style, hoping to eventually master it through intense training or magic. Back before Cali-Bryn trained with two swords, he trained with a longsword, and the Sargh’elgg style had been his basis. The style had been used with light weapons, like a traditional Drow rapier, and it was designed to get the most out of these weapons and the naturally superior elf dexterity. This is the most common fighting style used by a typical low-rank elfin guard. Although a strictly blade singer-only technique, Cali-Bryn had also amazingly adopted the fighting style of the Blade Song into his way of fighting. The blade song is a type of fighting style that using the ancient Elfin art of the blade song, an intricate style of combat that is so impossibly graceful that it often appears as though a practitioner is dancing rather than fighting. Although, originally, to use the blade song, a blade singer must wield a weapon in one hand and have nothing in the other. Cali-Bryn, however, has altered this rule a little bit, and is able to fight using two blades, at once.

Throughout his life, Cali-Bryn picked up parts of different styles from allies along the way, and due to his recent rebirth, the gods tore his magic from his body, and used it to better his sword skill. Cali-Bryn uses the short war swords, the Kristalliis blades, with great skill, equally proficient with both hands thanks to his ambidexterity, and is a lethal opponent to face in close combat. Even in range combat, the elf can defend himself well with his weapons, since he has especially trained to parry and block arrows and bullets using the blade of his sword, while using the movement of a parry, and quickly changing it into a devastating attack. The elf uses his amazing sword skill and style as a bluffing technique, as it can be used to feint in combat. To greater extent, this amazing skill with the swords makes it so the elf cannot be flanked, as his very diversified fighting style is so eccentric and unpredictable. Because of his style, and his skill, the elf is able to pull off several attacks in little time, and back off before the enemy can hit back. The diversified form of the eccentric style Cali-Bryn uses is comprised of very unpredictable moves, chained with quick handwork, and fancy footwork, and has been known to become a nuisance for opponents of the elf. The enemy becomes frustrated, loses their composure, and the elf moves in for the kill. As well, Cali-Bryn knows some martial arts tactics, most particularly trips, and holds, In order to put his opponent in a vulnerable position in battle. In addition to techniques, magic is useless when used against Cali-Bryn due to his armour, which in essence is a sort of exoskeleton. When the gods took his magic, they fused his armour to his body, and pumped magic into his very being, creating his strong magic repellent armour. This prohibits Cali-Bryn from using any latent magic he may still have, and uses it to protect against the forces he is forbidden to use. Without magic, the elf can only rely upon his swords that his gods’ bestowed upon him. His strengths and weaknesses are nonexistent, and his only elemental affinity could be considered holy, though chaste unpredictability makes it that much harder to figure out.

Physical/Magical Techniques »

Summon Sword » The act of arming himself with a weapon takes no more than a fleeting moment. With a quick prayer or gesture, the elf may contact his gods and they will arm him with his beautifully crafted, dual war swords called Kristalliis. The action usually resembles lightning striking, as a bright flash emanates from the elfs hands, and a sudden boom of thunder echoes from the sky above; a sort of communication method the gods use with Cali-Bryn. The swords are essentially kept where the Gods’ reside, and the magical properties make them unseen to all sorts of eyes when the are hidden away. Once Cali-Bryn utters any prayer of sort, the gods’ transmutate the weapons and send them down for Cali-Bryn for use. Once finished, the process reverses itself, and the swords become broken up, and the glitter of crystal floats free in the air as the weapons break down and ascend to the gods’ resting place.

Background »

In the very beginning, the elf had been adopted into a village of elves known as the Kalian Elves, under the name of Kalisto Myraid. He was born into a culture of an elfin clan, it was of the Kalian branch and was named as that due to their belonging to the Seleni Clan. The other elfin clans only knew of them through legends or rumors, as there has been no verification of their existence, for a member of a Seleni would never admit their allegiance. Raised by the elves ever since his first day in the world, Kalisto grew up understanding almost nothing of the typical elfin culture, except for the things that the elves knew about them, strangely; however, is that he was able to speak in the common elfin tongue since birth. He was raised as if he was a member of the Seleni elf clan by the Seleni that took care of him, and he spoke the Kalian language flawlessly, as if it were his mother language. The Seleni taught him everything that they feel he should know to survive in the wilderness, training him to be strong, both in the body and soul. This training from the Selenians was given to him even when he was but a little child, and as time passed, he grew stronger and tougher, and his beauty grew at the same time, causing even the elves to find him attractive, despite the fact that almost all elves would be considered very beautiful by most other creatures.

Kalisto viewed the elves that adopted him as his family, as they were the ones who have raised him, and have cared for him throughout his life. He had received lessons in the arts of magic and fighting under the Seleni, which they viewed as important things that one need to survive in the chaotic world, for who knows when another war might break out? Some of the elves who lived in the forest were once soldiers in great wars, and they have isolated themselves among the other elves to avoid contact, or more as a hiding, so that if another war breaks out they would not need to participate, for they were sick of wars by now. In the magical arts, Kalisto was nothing special, and his elfin teachers were still so much better than he was in the practical application of the skills, though he caught on quickly. However, in the field of melee combat, Kalisto soon proved that he had a gift inside him, for he did not take long to master his way with his weapon of choice, a crystal sword named Chrysalis, made for him by his adoptive parents. Outside of the knowledge of the elves however, on a particular day rode a group of twenty-one human knights towards the forest fore they learned of the elves living there. To meet them, Kalisto led a group of elf youth to do battle, and end the threat of the humans.

Kalisto yelled at the humans to leave and spare their lives, but the humans, upon hearing another person speaking in elfish, and seeing that it was an armed adult, pulled out their swords from their sheaths, and charged at Kalisto and his group without asking questions. Kalisto himself, being faced with hostility, responded in the same way, he quickly pulled Chrysalis out of its sheath, and the next thing that happened was the clashing of the blades. In the battle that evolved, a single human soldier began setting the forest alight while the others were locked in combat. Had the elves known before, they would not have suffered as much as they did. Nearly everyone had died, the others had been injured, and this distraction caught the elves off guard, and the humans used this to their advantage. They slaughtered the fighters, killing the elves, and they mutilated Kalisto for leading the battle. Afterwards, they continued to raze the village, killing everyone, raping the women, and stealing anything valuable. It seemed at the moment, the Seleni clan had be eternally wiped out for good, as there had been no survivors, at all. Kalisto was not a survivor, really. He was dead, in all respects, but the vengeance that dwelled inside him took a turn for the worse. He became what had been known later as a Dark Angel, and followed in their ranks.

Kalisto had followed the Dark Angels on their path of chaos and destruction with no remorse for any of the actions he took. This is how the elf lived, voyaging from place to place under the guise of a dark angel with an elfin subtype. One night when alone at a fire in the woods, Kalisto took a seat on a rock as he began to recollect the events in his life while staring into the fire, when a nekojin figure named Blue Mendari appeared out of a portal. The two chatted for a moment, and decided to test each other’s skill in fighting. This was the first time Kalisto ever met his equal in battle, and once they ended duel from fatigue, Blue cooked up some waffles. After his meeting with Blue, the two had bid farewell, and Kalisto felt at ease about his life. However, his soul was still locked with the Dark Angels, and in their possession. He challenged their leader, Dark Angel Phoenix for freedom, but in the end he was overwhelmed, as Infiniti (DAP’s inner power) crushed his soul and had him die once again. Blue found him lying upon the ground, his body scarred and wrecked. Blue took Kalisto’s mangled corpse through a portal to his home and carefully went through the process of reviving the elf. Kalisto’s soul returned to his body, but no amount of healing could fix the damage that had been done to Kalisto’s body. Scars marred several places all over his chest, shoulders and back.

These scars were combined with horrible burn marks and all of it would be a permanent and constant reminder of the events that had transpired that day, the day he fought for his freedom and got it back from his friend. As much as he wanted to stay and repay Blue for the virtuous and, the neko-mage did not request payment. They were friends after all. With a friendly word of good-bye the two separated again, and Kalisto wandered with the intent to study the cultures of the world. About this time is when he became involved with Chris Rawling, a member of the Riskbreakers. The two fought, and Rawling matched or beat every attack the elf had thrown at him, and offered the elf a position in the Riskbreaker faction. Seeing this as an opportunity to study even more, the elf agreed, his desire for knowledge burning even more. During the process of a few years, Kalisto met up with Corren Daemion, an Ice Knight of the Myrian continent. The two learned a lot of each other from then on, but when two of their leaders resigned, the Riskbreakers broke down. Tahakra Kagemusha, of the Vestigian Empire, then went against his Kings wishes when he gathered up what he called the Intrepid Genesis. Chris Rawling was their first recruit, and Kalisto Myraid did follow. As troubles began taking their mark, Kagemusha was assassinated, and Rawling took over command. Here, Kalisto stepped up to offer Chris Rawling a hand.

They had been successful enough in gathering up members, but Kalisto was beginning to fear disheartened. He, along with Rawling and the other leaders’ began to lose sight of their ideals, among other problems, and they drifting apart from each other. Kalisto saw it all fall apart from the inside, and he went to Corren Daemion for help. Corren, with his last effort, tried to save the Intrepid Genesis from their ultimate failure, but it was too late. The spirals of failure had already taken its toll, and the Intrepid Genesis crumbled upon itself. The members spread, the legacy left behind, and the members rarely spoke again. This is when Kalisto went wandering once more, traveling and doing odd jobs as security and a mercenary for the duration of about ten years. When news spread of a rebellion in Kotir, Kalisto was the first one there to see the proceedings that had been going on. He met a middle-aged beggar in the streets who recognized him as one of the leaders of the old Intrepid Genesis. The man spoke of these ruffian characters taking charge of the city, and inhabiting the abandoned citadel, fixing everything up so they held the city in a perfect dictatorship.

This angered Kalisto, but he could really do nothing as he was. As much as he wanted to bring the legacy back to Kotir, he was only one elf. This is where he took one year to search down Corren; the person he knew would do anything for the Intrepid Genesis. During this time, he forged the strangely magical, full suit of armor from several magic artifacts and with the help of Blue’s magic. When Kalisto met with Corren on that rainy night, he realized the human had been getting older, but said nothing of it. Kalisto told Corren every detail of what went on, but the once strong Myrian Knight was becoming too old to fight. He asked Kalisto to keep his eye on Kotir until his son John was old enough to fight in his stead for the Intrepid Genesis. Kalisto took his friends advice and did what was needed, he dressed as a beggar and lived in Kotir for ten years, watching every movement, every face that he passed by. However, he was found out. The man, who had once told him everything, sold him out for a meal and a comfortable night’s sleep. Kalisto was apprehended, and tortured for five years until he finally made the decision that changed everything about his life forever. He sold his soul, his body, and his skills to the gods in exchange for death. He came to a council of five gods’ that he never knew of existed, and did the most absurd thing – he asked them for another chance. The gods’ laughed a cruel laugh and did as he asked, but not before they could have their fun. The gods rearranged his whole being, the tore him limb from limb but kept his mind and soul aware of what happened, though he did not cry out in pain. The gods’ were perplexed by this, by this figures powerful spirit, so they decided to use him as an avatar of them.

They stripped him of magic, and mutilated his sword; excruciatingly grafted his armor to his body, and imbued his body with his magic and their own. Here they constructed his Kristalliis, his crystal war-swords and sent him down to earth to live again. The gods’ gave Kalisto a new name, and a new life. He was Cali-Bryn Faeroe, a warrior possessing amazing sword skill and the protection of the five gods. By this time, he was already on his way to see Corren once more, and take young John Daemion to bring back the Intrepid Genesis. Corren, at first, found it hard to believe but eventually recognized several key features, namely his eyes. His eyes had now been warped, and the black pupil had now turned to white, but the deep majestic blue still pierced the coldest of hearts. The two spoke about the Intrepid Genesis to themselves, while John had been away. Once John returned home, Corren gave his son the infamous Nydiar, and told him to go with Cali-Bryn. The youth protested of course, but finally gave in as the two left for Kotir. Upon entering Kotir, the person who sold him out was the first Cali-Bryn sought out. Ironically, the man was now an old fool asking “coin for an old friend,” he soon realized however that it was a mistake. Cali-Bryn was near killing the man when John stopped him, and questioned his actions. For the first time since they left John had spoken, and Cali-Bryn had answered. As the two defeated the opposition, and liberated the town, Cali-Bryn told John the history of the Intrepid Genesis and the youth finally understood his father’s ambition. Cali-Bryn and John reestablished the Intrepid Genesis once more, for another go at the legacy for a new time.

We have 20 days from now until I leave for Army for a month, so get on with it. I'll post the topic, we'll wager no stars, but if you beat me, I'll give you the champion slot. You write the intro though, since you challenge me. Then, if DS wants Champ spot, he can duel you if you win.

Character Sheet

Name: Hyphural Redfield –(Hi-feur-ule)

Age: 44 —(Ageless – Though he has, within his own abilities, halted his aging at 44)

Gender: Male

Race: Ifriti (Jinn): The Ifriti are the second most powerful form of Jinn. Jinn are, in essence, a half breed of human and demon. Hyphural is no exception, but he, along with the rest of his family, aren’t visibly half-demon. In fact, they are classified as Jinn based on their family lineage, and what they have done in the past, rather than simply conception. The Ifriti are basically a more powerful version of Jinn, often favoring particular elements and lifestyles—taking those inclinations to a very exuberant extreme.

Appearance: Hyphural is a very extravagant, very gaudy individual. He favors the most eccentric forms of clothing, jewelry, and grooming. He stands at a standard six feet, two inches, yet weighs in at a very lithe, one hundred and seventy-four pounds. Hyphural’s entire complexion is very Middle-Eastern/Arabic; his skin is very tanned, almost to the point of being bronze, while his muscular build is very weathered—toned like a runner or swimmer, rather than a knight or another type of melee specimen. His face appears almost insane, like a devil or banshee. The amber color of his eyes radiate fervently with a fearsome heat—a heat that seizes one’s sanity with only a touch. The rest of Hyphural’s features are sharp, from his powerful, slanted nose, to his deep eye sockets. Hyphural’s hair is cut short, though tends to lean backwards and up, slanting to a ‘sort of’ point. His hair is thick—and the color of a dark and dying fire. It’s deep ginger is streaked with fearsome streaks of burgundy. His lips are thin and scarred—often twisting into a malicious sneer. Hyphural’s tongue is another sign his Ifrit/Banshee Heritage. It’s long and pointed, reaching another inch past the bottom of his chin. Both sides of his lips are pierced with copper rings, along with several more rings of copper, gold and silver in each of his slightly pointed ears.

Hyphural’s nimble, yet fearsomely toned body is very tanned and weather-worn. Scars decorate his body like trophies, while plenty of faded tattoos also garnish his body with symbols, patterns, sins and histories. Considering the humid climate of Kotir, Hyphural prefers to wear nothing on his upper body except more jewelry and sashes. His arms are fully decorated with bracelets, more tattoos, scars and bands. Each of his fingers are covered in rings of various metals and designs. To take the gaudy, narcissistic look even one step farther, he has painted his nails black. Hyphural’s pants are also suited to the arid conditions of Kotir—they’re middle-eastern style pants—baggy and very light. They are a dark, crimson color, faded slightly though still in reasonable condition. The top of the pants are held strictly by sashes, while the bottom of the pants stop at the top of his boots, forming a parachute type of look. His boots reach the bottom of his knees—they’re black leather, covered with rusted copper studs with metal supports around the heal and toe.

Personality: Hyphural is a very sinful man. Each of the seven deadly sins captures his interests—each of them fill him to the brim. He craves mischief, but more than that—mayhem. He is a very reckless, malicious person who takes pleasure in seeing others hurt. Hyphural’s tendencies to antagonize are another cause for the trouble he sows. Something deeper inside him is the true driving force, but the façade that he’s constructed with his corrupt and spiteful ways tend to lead people to believe he is only a mindless, typical fiend. In all truth and actuality, there is something else inside his soul that not only encourages him to follow the path of the seven deadly sins—something drives him.

Weaponry/ Magical Capabilities:

The Bands of La’saar: Upon Hyphural’s right wrist rests a spiraling, bronze band that does more than initially expected. The bands are actually the tempered souls of a Titan. A man named La’saar, a legendary eidolon who crafted enchanted weapons, forged these bands from the soul of a shape-shifting Titan of Blight. Hyphural found these weapons while pillaging La’saar’s shop a few years ago and took them for himself. The bands can pretty much take the shape of any melee weapon that Hyphural wishes, but cannot stay in one particular shape for an extended period of time.

Class: Collector of Sins: Indulgence in vice and transgressions of all sorts—the driving factor for Hyphural Redfield. In particular, the seven deadly sins have proven to be the most fulfilling to him. Sloth, Gluttony, Lust, Vanity, Envy, Greed and Wrath—all of these things are a narcotic to him. The essence of devil spirits inside of him have been passed to through his family’s generations. The Redfields are collectors of the essences of souls, and have been for thousands of years. The essences inside of Hyphural are all of the demon kind, and these trapped souls are a commanding force inside of his mind. (More about the Redfields will be elaborated in Bio)

Elemental Affinities: Fire -Major- Dark -Minor- (I can remove the secondary element if it’s not allowed.)

Physical/Magical Techniques:

The Ifriti Fires: Hyphural has the natural elemental affinity for fire that all Ifriti have. Their fire and forms of fire manipulation are much different than that of a standard fire-user. To them, the fire is living—a weapon or an ally who fights alongside you. Ifriti fire can take different forms and colors, often altering their properties for very short periods of time—these quick spurts of property alignment are often influence by what emotion the Ifrit is currently experiencing. The Ifriti are more than merely fire-users however—they are fire. Their bodies are filled with it while smoldering lava courses through their veins and poisonous fumes seep from their pours. Even with great concentration and a considerable amount of effort, the Ifriti can, for usually only a few moments, take upon themselves the properties of fire and become a living flame.

Background: Hyphural Redfield was one of the three triplet children born into the Redfield family (Grendel, Blair, and Hyphural). He was the last to leave his mothers womb—almost then and there setting the tone for the type of rebellious, antagonistic person that he would become. The lineage of the Redfield family is a very strange one. First and foremost, the original Redfield shall be discussed shortly—Lucius. Lucius Redfield was the first Redfield to begin the families traditions of, well—collecting. In the year 86 A.D., Lucius made a deal with a watcher (A now extinct race of universal keepers) who kept various things such as memories, emotions, ideas and all of the other intangibles that make up the universe. The last watcher gave Lucius the ability to collect the essences of others—a part of their soul that separates from the spirit at the exact instant of death. Within an essence is everything about that person, from their memories to their personality; even their conscious. Throughout the generations, the Redfields have been collecting essences; each in their own way, and never losing one. All that has been collected is pasted down to the next generation of Redfield for them to build and grow upon.

Hyphural, for some odd reason, inherited only the past collection of ‘darker’ essences from his Father, Morfindel. And for another peculiar reason, Hyphural cannot collect any more essences himself, he can only collect the ‘vice’ and ‘sin’ that the demon essences inside him crave. In particular, Hyphural craves the Seven Deadly Sins; he considers those to be the most satiating.

Hyphural left his Family in the middle of the night one day, driven only by his ever growing hunger for the sins he collects. He’s almost driven like a machine—never ceasing his hunt for more, so that someday he would be completely filled…if only someone would have told him he never would be…

Thirty years ago, just about at the time when Hyphural decided to stop his aging at forty-four years old, he joined an organization called the Intrepid Genesis. He thought that maybe there he would find the kind of sins that would stop the screaming inside of him—the kind of sins that would stop his eternal suffering. However, the group eventually disbanded, and Hyphural was so completely depraved that he didn’t even leave the city of Kotir—he became a notorious criminal within the city—the guards and militia eventually gave up on catching or stopping him…he was too wily and powerful to constrain. Hyphural continued to live in Kotir, feeding off of petty sins and peccadillo—though he was falling apart inside, and no salvation was in sight…

::—Kotir—::

A brilliant splash of daylight washed over Hyphural’s closed eyes like a guardian angel. The scent of freshly baked sweet bread was in the air while arguing voices and children’s voices could be heard along with the clamoring of trading wagons. He blinked twice, and then three more times; rubbing the back of his neck wearily, Hyphural Redfield sat up from his flour-bag, make-shift bed, and looked around in a bewildered haze. He was near a trading post that he typically slept by when he noticed something through the crowds of travelers and the clouds of dust slowly rising—that elf. Slowly, he rose to his feet which were still trembling from weariness. “I cannot be…” Hyphural reassured himself in a slow, thoughtful tone, but he didn’t even convince himself. Maybe this time he would find what he needed in the new Intrepid Genesis, he reflected as he overheard the townsfolk speaking of the new city take-over. This was the chance he had been waiting for, Hyphural decided, and he vigilantly made his way toward the Palace of Kotir—the shinning beacon of his potential salvation…however tainted that deliverance may prove to be…

There it is Sooley. Get your character done, and make an intro. Or vice-versa, I don't care. =P

Lesse... Oh, and Wind Mage has a new job.

«5.320 Tavern Keep - -[Wind Mage]- »

The Tavern Keep keeps tabs on the gambling aspect of the Intrepid Genesis. He will keep tabs on what people wager, and hold an IC tavern where you can go an relax, drink some “water”, and plac some bets on interesting duels.

You can now place your bets on upcoming duels (like Sooley against I) if you wind you gain what you bet, if you lose, you lose it.

Just something to keep in mind

This character is still experimental, so I'll probably do some revamping in the future. I use his brother, Grendel, as my main character for the Dojang, so It might take me a little while to get used to the feel of Hyphural. That is also the reason the sign-up may seem a little "bare-bones".
