Drago14:
Your weapon could be described quite a bit more. How thick, what's the weight, do you use it one handed or two? When you describe your weapon I want to have a mental image of it in my head. As well as this, you could write in how you fight with it. Are you a quick fighter, or do you slowly mash the enemy with the broadside of the blade? You could also describe your class, perhaps tell me something about it. I see a battle mage as someone who relies on magic, but is decent at fighting as well, just for back up.
For abilities, I think they'll be alright. What I do what done is for you to get rid of any speed bonus'. You are a swordsman, who is large and strong, and uses some magic. That's pushing some limits, but it's fine. A speed bonus is too much. Personally, I think you should just be able to channel the lightning through your weapon. That way, if you get disarmed, you need to get creative, rather than "Zap!"
Get rid of Bolt Annihilation as well, that is quite powerful for a character who is mainly a swordsman. Your bio is alright, but one question. Why did Pherous get away. How did he, he would mostly likely be taken prisoner or executed as well. Lastly, how did Pherous come to find the IG? Did he just walk in by chance, or did he hear about it and become intrigued.
Drago14: You still need some work, though it wasn't too bad. I'll put you on recruit status, as you also want to be trained. You can include it in your sig, if you wish. I would like it to be inlcuded in any IG topic however. Recruit of The Intrepid Genesis
You should delete your posts, and rework what I wrote here, and try once again. ^_^

Poll: Should the Intrepid Genesis be kept solely on RP&FF (all
topics, duels, guild quests and training topics) or should we hold
everything but the Headquarters at our old resident board on GameFAQS.
Choose either: RP&FF, or Other

After a few moments of consideration... Other.
It'll get buried on RP/FF. And, if the IG gets enough topics, the RP/FF populace might not like that.

RP/FF, for now. The Riskbreakers did well using it, and when we
switched to a private board, things started dieing. It's killing the
Dojang, too.
We need to leave everything where it is for now, and even once we get our numbers stable, we still should keep RPGs on the RP/FF, as well as important duels and such.

NAME
Vissen, Neva Saer
AGE
18
GENDER
Female
RACE
Human
APPEARANCE
---Neva is a black woman and a monk, so to speak. Her hair is absolutely dark, but cut to the stubble on all dimensions. Her body has been worked constantly since her youth and holds a slim but very muscular build, often causing many to underestimate her strength. Her upper body is especially trained due to her inclination to pole-arms; it is a common but effective technique to train with a mockery of a weapon that is by far a great deal heavier. Her eyes are colored a beautiful shade of amber with an intense tone almost to give a color of bright yellow. Either by stoned grief or disciplined rigidity, Neva holds one of the fiercest of any human gaze-- much similar to a tiger’s, as one man said. Her amber eyes seem to follow, know, and predict you every move, and with her amazing sense of reading people, she almost does. Salt to the wound, she to be able to conjure from anywhere this intensity and give off this effect of peering into your inner most thoughts and is disgusted. Ever since she resided in the temple, Neva had had her hair cut bare, which shows prominently, not just form her head, but also her eyebrows. But again, since she left she has let them grow to a faint, thin line. It’s no surprise she doesn’t smile a whole hell of a lot, and she’s constantly wearing a mask of exasperation and complete and utter rigidity, as said.
---Again, as said, her body is very thin, but just a glance at her arms examples her past training. Riddled with weaving muscles, it’s almost a surprise that she kept such a lean figure. Especially her biceps are greatly pronounced and bulging just a bit. This also reflects to her chest, but to a lesser degree. Her chest itself is clearly more worked than even her stomach, which outlines faint muscles, but not as developed as anything else. Her legs are the only parts of her body that could be called average, and even then that’s understating them. Her skin is mostly flawless except an ugly pink scar running down her belly to her left thigh. Neva’s actually slightly proud of this since it marked her graduation of mastering pole-arms.
---Her clothes are very simple, which Neva has purposely been keeping since her escape from the temple. When in public, Neva keeps a long, dark coat that reaches her ankles and covers her head. The color is very dark, almost black, but is actually a dim tone of blue. The coat is very thick and heavy; she keeps it mostly for warmth in travel. Without her coat, she wears a very breathable, very thin, white shirt with no sleeves. This shirt fits very snug over her body and is kept tucked into her trousers. It, actually, is a traditional hakama, which consists of being tied very tight at her belly, and extends well down to her ankles, where they grow immensely in width at the bottom. The color of the hakama matchers her coat, which, by the way, she never wears into combat, be it rain, sleet, snow, or hell itself.

PERSONALITY
--During Neva’s time in the temple, she was numerously compared to a tiger in her style of fighting and life. In her exterior appearance, Neva presents an enviable state of tranquility and a stern, disciplined repression of outbursts to even the most degrading or horrid of events. In battle she seems to unleash her emotions and repressed rage, but has a strict control over he behavior so as she does not lose herself to her emotions. Also, in her ulterior presence, she is constantly mulling certain questions or events over in her head, especially when it comes to the sole reason for a person’s act towards something even their whole behavior/ Due to naivety or tragedy, Neva seems unable to settle on one distinct theory of people and this troubles her greatly. But in combat, her mind is blissfully blank, which she treasures immensely, and in realization to this effect, she has become much more aggressive in an ironic search for peace. It’s not completely common, but it’s also not rare to approach Neva, only to receive a biting sarcasm in return.
--When it comes to picking an opponent, Neva generally chooses anyone willing and basically anyone who pisses her off, which could include any number of things, even made up reasons. Neva would consider herself a person of morals, but she also examples little when it comes to mercy; a fight fire with fire attitude. Neva fights for peace, or so she says to herself, and she will move someone aside by force if they’re in her way. It seems Irony and Tragedy bolts each of her legs to this world.
WEAPONRY
Neva’s choice of her primary weapon is unique in two aspects. First of all, it’s a traditional weapon that has not been in everyday use, so to speak, for over a hundred years. Her specialty weapon is called a Zhuihun Sword that she calls simply ‘her weapon’, which consists of a pole taller than her with a large blade at the top. The blade is made up of two crescents, one much larger than the other. The length of the blade matches to the length of most persons’ forearms. At the base of the blade is tied a red, silk ribbon, as is custom to most respectable weapons. The blade has a faint, dull spill over the tips of the crescents, which is the blood of the first person killed for the weapon and Neva. For some strange reason, the blood wouldn’t fully wash away. The pole itself is made of light metal, but ever since it was cut almost in half, the pole is now filled with metal making it a great deal heavier, but Neva has practiced with heavier so the weight doesn’t hinder her. Engraved in the base of the pole is a gold diamond enwrapped in growing roses, with the thorns piercing the diamond. Casting over the symbol was an emerging tiger seeming to emerge from the darkness itself. About a third of the way up from the bottom is a guard which consists of a silver ring which serves as a catch so when Neva’s hands become sweaty, the weapon will not slip in her hands. A little below this catch is an indent in the metal with a few bumps; this section is also a lot rougher, feeling similar to sand paper.

---The second unique aspect of the weapon is that it can be transformed
into an almost whole new weapon of versatility with a touch of a
button. When the ‘sword’ was cut in two pieces, Neva did not repair it
exactly to its former state. Instead she connected the two pieces, one
that would the blade and a fifth of the pole, with a chain. She soon
discovered this was too weak so two more were attached. This worked,
but the chains caught and snagged in on each other. In response, Neva
had the links of the chain melded and locked in between each other;
this was out of spite but works extraordinarily well. To release the
blade, two catch must be released at the same time, which was
implemented for protection against careless mistakes. One is located in
the shadow of the guard, and the other is located in just under where
the pole separates. Both are small and black, melding perfectly with
the pole’s original color. With the blade released, the pole reaches
almost half of its length farther. Since this is the first sort of
weapon for Neva, she has had to train herself, but with the previous
training it wasn’t as difficult for most. Even though, she’s still
learning. She quickly adopted her own sense of style with the chained
weapon and has already developed her own signature moves holding great
accuracy and speed.
---Then again, she’s almost just as deadly unarmed with a powerful intensity and furious speed. It should be a given Neva possesses awesome agility she constantly implements in her style.
PHSYICAL/MAGICAL TECHNIQUES
--Iron Fists -- Pretty basic. When she doesn’t have her weapon, she draws energy into her hands (not necessarily fists) and even if blocked with a shield, her hands can contain enough force to stagger the biggest man.
---Devil’s Wind -- Basically Neva calls a sudden ‘wind; that launches her unnaturally high into the air, or send her flying to one direction as if someone of a thousand men’s strength tossed her with all their might. It’s hard to balance after the sudden travel, but it’s incredibly useful to dodge certain attacks or position herself to an advantage.
---Flying Edge -- Neva keeps her hands open and tight, usually keeping to a mantis stance. In this pose, her open-handed strikes hold a distinct biting force that can pierce the skin.
---Rolling Thunder -- This technique consists more of a combo, attacking with a flurry of blow through awesome speed and bombarding the opponent in an unrelenting rage. This could start with any number of moves, but Neva usually uses a basic but effective form for this. In the most common used combo, Neva starts with her blade released, jumping at the opponent with the blade circling rapidly under Neva like a propeller. Usually the opponent will simply take a few steps back, just missing the blade; In this event, Neva usually sees they do this, since most do the same thing in reaction, she will push the end of the pole at the ground and launch herself into a flying kick at the enemy. If this is blocked Neva will drive a hard overhead swing of her weapon with a thundering force empowering the blade. This really could go on, but its more difficult the longer the combo is, and the last move is always a powerful blow enhanced with energy.

---Vemnison Assault -- Neva launches a
flurry of thrusts too fast to track, but the unique aspect of this
attack is that when it’s fended against, the blade has a strange
pulling of skin, possibly deeper. The longer she keeps the attack going
(very difficult), the stronger the pull.
---Shattering of the Mind and Body --- A ‘last resort’ technique, so to speak. First, Neva creates a copy of herself that can only be spawned from blood. The copy charges at the target, and three steps before contact, another copy pulls itself from the body of the original, and leaps into the air. Both tackle the target with a force like a rushing bullet train. Immediately after, Neva launches herself with the with end of her ‘sword’ leading, hitting just after the copies with inhuman speed, clearly putting the Devil’s Wind to shame. The force behind the blow of her blade reaches a velocity high enough to pierce and shatter though any shield or bone.
BACKGROUND
---Neva was born to Victor Vissen and Norian Saer. Victor was a black, self-trained fight who belonged to one of the many rebel groups against the corrupt leaders that held a tight and brutal control over the city they resided in, Kotir. He was considered by many as a valued asset in constructing fatally clever plans of destruction. Before one execution of a planned raiding of the central palace, one member betrayed them and revealed their plans and even named all members of the groups. For his reward, received a promise of wealth, but ended up with his tongue removed for his lack of honor, or so they explained. Victor and the majority of the group walked into a trap where every single one of them was slaughtered. In response to this, Norian Saer took Neva, whom was but two years of age by then, and gave her to her cousin, Arisis Maryniet, for protection. It wasn’t but soon after she returned to Kotir to find out that city guards were sent on a manhunt on all known in the rebel groups’ close ties. Norian tried to escape again, but was ambushed by three attackers at the gate. It did not take but one to slay her, but they all took turns mutilating her body. In three nights, a total of thirty-four bodies were slain, including elders, teenagers, toddlers, and their parents.
---From the days after, the massacre wouldn’t from then be known as Sirik’s Command, which was a code among everyone except the official since their were forbidden of speaking of the incident. Rumors came along with the story of the massacre, and a popular one was that Sirik, the person who ordered the killings, was tied with the demons of the underworld and blocked the Holy One’s vision by cursing the moon to disappear for the three night of the murders. Meanwhile, Neva grew to learn to trust few and suspect all, as was expected since Arisis made his life’s career a thief. Neva also grew a sense of keeping a sharp eye on people’s behavior and movements. Soon she developed an envious way of being able to predict a person’s next move or even reactions to certain events or truths.

---When Neva reached the age of seen, Arisis spotted an overdeveloped
maturity in her and sent where she could take advantage of it. Just
before then, he also revealed the full truth of her parents’ demise,
which he desperately darted around previously when the topic came up.
After taking in the truth, Neva was given little time to grieve since
she was quickly transferred to a temple where teachers of martial arts
resided, stemmed from the origins of Buddhists and Shao Lin training.
Under their training, Neva was guided through strict discipline, harsh
punishment, and light rewards, and a learning of multiple philosophies.
Neva actually quickly adapted and grew accustomed to the temple and
excelled greatly in her training, at the same time growing a large
talent for pole arm weapons. Although she quickly habituated the
temple’s ways, the early introduction of philosophies seemed to jumble
her brain and conscience. With this, se learned her mind cleared in
training and combat, and since then she has grown to be more aggressive
than not.
---Just before her sixteenth year of age, she was rewarded with a Zhuihun Sword, which consisted of a six-foot, seven-inch pole and a large U-shaped blade at the top. She received this weapon for mastering the techniques of pole arm weaponry, shown by almost defeating one of her instructors in a spar. It wasn’t but eight months afterward she stumbled upon one of the head instructors with an official bearing a badge of Kotir. She listened in and heard the instructor agree to give Neva over for protection of the temple. It was then she decided to escape the next morning, but two men came for her that night. Fortunately she wasn’t sleeping then and hid when he she detected someone sneaking up to her bedroom. When they came, she attacked from their back with her Zhuihun Sword, quickly dispatching one with a hard thrust to his head. The other one parried the next blow, and one the second swing he attack with his own blade, cutting the blade off a few inches down the pole. After this he grew overconfident, faltered, and was quickly knocked unconscious. Neva ran away that night, fleeing towards Kotir to fight the leader, but came a few days too late. Still, when she learned of the Intrepid Genesis, Neva was determined to help in the cause of fight the corrupt and evil.

We will host my training topic, tournaments and duels, along with
quests and all that at another board. That board will be given once it
is determined. The rest of the topics, the HQ, Main Story, and IC
Social will be kept here on RP&FF to attract more people. I may
have the IC social up tonight, but don't count on it. =P

Hmm, I just finished reading the rules and noticed somehting. I
remember last time there was a rule that prohibited cross-faction
characters but I dind;t see it this time. Are you planning to instate
that rule again or did you actually scratch it out...

A few amendments, the first is the combat situation that is added to
the end of the Character Creation process. It is now required, so wind
Mage and Jalan do not need to do one unless they wish to. The second is
the policy with cross faction characters. It is ok, but keep in mind
what is said below:
«3. Ø Combat Situation»
In order to be accepted into the ranks of the Intrepid Genesis, a combat situation is required for you to complete with the character you are currently trying to sign-up for. This means, if you decide to make a new character, and get rid of your old one, you need a new combat sample. With the combat sample provided, you will write a detailed post explaining your defence, and your attack, just like you would in a normal duel. You are walking through a ruined maze, you hear no voices, no people; everything is devoid of all life. You see a cloaked figure in the corner of your eye as the person disappears into a hole in the wall. You follow of course, for whatever reason you choose, but when you walk into the hole, you end in an empty, but horribly broken corridor. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the figure propels themselves at you, their cloak billowing out behind them as the air from the explosion rushes down the corridor, with the putrid smell of decay. Out from his hands came three daggers, thrown one by one towards you, while he rushed in with a fourth. His left foot crashes into yours as he sends the dagger in his hand careening towards your chest, his face full of decay and twisted into a sickening snarl. The rest is up to you, fill in the point where I mentioned, up until the end of your attack, but be careful not to control the character I described. He will serve as a real duelist, so we can measure how you duel.
«5.11 Conduct and Interfaction Relations»
The Intrepid Genesis is based around the idea of being civil. We know how hard this can be for some of you, but a little tact can carry you a long way in this society. If you cannot say anything nice, do not say anything at all, right? Failure to keep your mouth in check could result in a nice star dockage, so, if you value your rank, you will be careful how you act around here. Duels shall be handled civilly as well, whether they are within the IG or not. You are not allowed to badger an opponent about their skills, no matter how much you want to jump through your monitor and strangle them. The same punishment of star loss will be applied if you decide to go on a ranting spree. Remember, anything against the Terms of Service is also banned within the faction. (http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/tos.php) We will be watching you. This also includes being in two factions at once. This Intrepid Genesis begins thirty years after any current faction, period. If the character has the ability to live for a long time, or lives until a normal age with no loss of ability, then they are fine to join. So, cross faction characters are okay, as long as you keep it logical.

Eh, okay, I'm pretty sure I'm going to join this thing, (Shinta's
support helped me decide) but I still need to figure out which
character to use. Here are the three pending~
- Tash, the Warrior of Flames: My signature character. A fire mage of Japanese weaponry and amazing ability. He does not have much of a moveset, so much as he can convert and morph his energy for different attacks to serve purpose at the time of need.
-Gata: An ice mage, with a sidekick,(I'm not sure if I can have two chars working as a group?) Tica. Gata is a swordsman, using a rather crushing blade (not Cloud sized but still pretty large) and a long, bead-like chain for hooking his enemies. Tica provides back up, simple spells for envigorating Gata or subduing adversaries.
-Gihei and Guraka: Gihei is a dark mage, possessing incredible arrogance and bloodthirst. Guraka is the name of his sword, if you'd call it a sword. For, from the boney hilt comes a long, thin set of jaws, relevant to those of a crocodile. With this weapon, Gihei's opponents are ripped to mere chunks of their former physical statue (the swords actually bites people).
~And so, those are the characters I am considering, but I cannot decide on juts one. There is something I can assure you, however. If I join with my Tash char, I can virtually guarantee that he would serve as a powerful char, and that I'd be able to use him with efficiency. As for the others, they are all characters recently concocted, so their prowess in battle is unknown to me. Choose whichever you find best suited, whichever best fits the mood of the faction.

Urban Outlaw: Upon acceptance into the Intrepid Genesis, you are
allowed one character for the duration of your stay. Once you achieve
the rank of Elite with 35 stars, you have the choice of creating a
second character if needed. If that still does not satisfy you, you can
create a third once you achieve the rank of Paramount with 50 stars.
Riskbreakers with over 75 stars, however, have an unlimited capacity to
create characters if they wish.

Many thanks to Citizen Eight, and all the others for providing me with these questions.
«6. Frequently Asked Questions»
What is the difference between ageless and immortal?
Ageless means you are eternal, ever existing, never dying of natural cause such as age. This is acceptable, as Cali-Bryn is ageless because of his background. John however, would not be ageless because he is a human. See? Immortal means you cannot die, period. In addition, before you ask, you cannot be immortal.
Can I be a demon or an angel or whatever race I want?
As stated in the Character Creation portion (Section 3.0), you may. The only stipulation that you must give is an adequate description of your race. Humans, basically, are the only races you do not need to describe unless you wish to include nationalities and cultural background.
What type of weapons can I as a player use, what is the limit to numbers, and how advanced can they be?
It really does not matter what types as long as they are practical and believable. You can have as many as you want, as long as you have a reason for them, a logical place for them to stay, and the character background must say how they are proficient with them. As for technology, the most modern weapon that would be accepted would be a really old, iron, and wood, flintlock rifle. Single shot, takes long to reload, and is inaccurate. You are better off with a bow.
Like the previous Intrepid Genesis, where you had affinities and restrictions on skills and limits, are they still in effect?
No, and some people are very glad about that. The affinity and restrictions placed too much cramp on creative styles for originality, so we decided to drop it. Just remember not to go overboard on techniques, and everything will be fine and dandy.
In regards to the amount of characters that we can have, are we limited to only one? If so, how do we get more?
Upon acceptance into the Intrepid Genesis, you are allowed one character for the duration of your stay. Once you achieve the rank of Elite with 35 stars, you have the choice of creating a second character if needed. If that still does not satisfy you, you can create a third once you achieve the rank of Paramount with 50 stars. Riskbreakers with over 75 stars, however, have an unlimited capacity to create characters if they wish.
What if one of the high ranking members mistreats me or is discourteous to me?
Same thing as if a low ranking did the same thing. Report it to Naphtali Grahf, first. If it is an important issue, he will notify IFV or X, and they will deal with the individual. Perhaps resulting in a lowered star count, or banning depending on the situation.
Am I required to put the Intrepid Genesis label in my signature?
You are not required as much as it is encouraged. When you have that signature, and you post around, you spread our name out and will gather the interest of other role-players. For example, you create an excellent RPG and the people read your signature afterwards and think, “Wow, the Intrepid Genesis has some good people, maybe I’ll check it out.” For those who do not know, the format of the signature is: <b> Rank/Title –[Stars]-</b> of <i>The Intrepid Genesis</i> It shouldn’t take up too much space, and you have a free line for anything of your choice.

As a Greenhorn I wish to know how can I contribute more to the Intrepid Genesis?
You can do what you do best, either RP or duel. Every person that posts an IC piece contributes to the common enjoyment of the faction. Greenhorn’s can participate in duels and in the two story topics (Social and Main). Once there, you can gain stars for whatever reason we concoct if we feel you deserve a bonus.
How many factions/guilds/clans can I be in?
It really does not matter to us, so whatever floats your boat. Just keep in mind Section 5.11 Conduct and Interfaction Relations. You may be in the Intrepid Genesis with your Dojang character, but no matter how advanced the Dojang gets, our Intrepid Genesis will always be 30 years after it, as it is with every faction. So, if you so wish, you may write of the Dojang’s end when you decide to join us, if you feel it is necessary.
Do I have to participate in the story because I only want to duel, or vice-versa?
No, you do not. Take for instance our Guildmaster, Shinta von Weizegger. He may role-play, and he may duel, but he does not have to. He has a specific job, and that is to provide quests and adventures for the members. You also have a job, and this is to write. We do not care how you do it, we just want you writing, or you are wasting our time and yours.
Do outside duels count towards advancement?
No they do not. We only count IG’er against IG’er as advancement duels, and this also gives you the ability to wager stars and take them all home when you win.
Are Intrepid Genesis duels judged?
Yes, but not by a very strict criterion. Our judges (any high ranking official, or guest judges) will read the duel and comment on it as whole at the end. They will judge based on creativity, description, and realism. The better person they feel who fought well, and more descriptive, will win.
As a trainee I want to know when my training will be done.
Once the Sensei brings you through the four basic steps to evaluate your skills, he may either choose to let you go, or request that you partake in the steps once again. How long you stay is up to you.
Do all new recruits have to be trained or is it mandatory?
No, neither. If you or a high ranking member feels that you should be trained, then you will be trained.
I am a strictly Open/Closed/Hybrid style duelist, but my opponent wants to duel me his way. Do I have to duel him that way or can I duel my way?
It depends on who challenged whom. If you challenged him, you fight with his rules, but if he challenged you, well, then it is your rules.
I feel I should progress in rank so do I bring it up or ask questions?
If you do so in a polite way, and not accuse us of anything, sure. We may have glanced over you, and we will make the appropriate changes. Other than that, we will decide if you progress, or not.
Will we have a tournament with the Dojang, or any other factions?
No we will not. Never. Unless the Dojang wishes to advance thirty years and use older characters, then no. Remember, the Intrepid Genesis takes place thirty years after any faction.
I'm to lazy to read all those rules so can I just ask some questions and you guys answer them?
That is the reason you are down here, right? Thought so. Seriously though, if you are too lazy to read these rules, then we do not want you in our faction. Scroll all the way to the top, and read the stuff you missed.
Am I allowed to post, however I want?
Sorry, but no. You will post in well written form, and follow section 5.18 Topicality Issues, where topics on the RP&FF and our other boards are to be posted only by council members or high-ranking officials.
